Favourite, Secret, Miniature Mountain Alpine Style – Parkhouse Hill

Tweets of snowfalls in Buxton … rumour of Snake Pass closure … point the car due South and head for my favourite, secret, miniature mountain, Parkhouse Hill.

The first time I pointed a camera at The Hill I knew that with the first hint of snow I’d be heading back. Driving over the peaks snowdrifts pushed against farmsteads and field barns; a pure white wilderness criss-crossed with dry stone walls; our hopes were high.

But despite its diminutive scale Parkhouse Hill managed to push itself clear of the snow.

So after a few shots it was time to retreat to the warmth of the Cheshire Cheese Inn to plan the next attempt.
