In the first comparison (part 1) in the test shots of Leeds the Quattro seemed to “smudge” some of the red brick work. But to be fair it was 50mm V 30mm, so with its longer reach the Merrill DP3 was always going to provide more detail than the Quattro DP2.
Today I took a couple of shots of red brick buildings in Ossett, zooming in and out with feet to fill the frame and hopefully provide a more even contest.

To be honest, just looking at the shots, all are pretty decent. But if you want to be critical, zoom in, especially is seems to me on areas of shadow, and the Merrill simply has more detail where-as the Quattro looks like a water colour. Zoom back out and the Merrill DP3 starts to look generally sharper.
But hey, both are pretty cool, and as I’ve said, the Quattro is a better all round camera, so you pay your money and make your choice!
