Anne Mason

Artist & Printmaker

Anne is a painter & printmaker with a lifelong interest in landscape, nature and rural subjects. Her home studio is in Teesdale and is situated in a pine wood 1000ft above sea level with extensive views over the river into Yorkshire as far as Arkengarthdale and Tan Hill Inn. Teesdale and the North Pennines are regular sources of inspiration as well as neighbouring Yorkshire and Cumbria.

Many of Anne’s compositions are gleaned from dog walks along fells and down country lanes. She paints in watercolours and oils and her printmaking is mainly drypoint and relief work, currently she has been interested in combining drypoint with watercolour wash. Influences are too numerous to mention, but they tend to spring from Turner, Palmer, Van Gogh and move through to the Neo-Romantic & Expressionist landscape painters of the 20th Century. Anne has an MA in Fine Art & Education from Northumbria University (2008).
